THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario urge the Government of Ontario to extract from:
The Business Practices Act, 1974
The Motor Vehicles Dealers' Act
The Consumer Reporting Act, 1973
The Discriminatory Business Practices Act, 1978
The Upholstered and Stuffed Articles Act,
and any other relevant provincial legislation, all sections dealing with the protection of the consumer as buyer of goods and services and to consolidate all these sections into one single Consumer Protection Act that is written in language that is easily understood by the average consumer.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED to refer this resolution to the Ontario Provincial Council of Women and the Consumers' Association of Canada (Toronto Division) to urge their support and action.
