THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Ontario urge the Government of Ontario to amend its current policy on social assistance and post-secondary education so that grants, scholarships and bursaries are not automatically considered income and deducted from the recipients’ social assistance benefit.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Ontario urge the Government of Ontario, specifically the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Education and Training, to work to streamline their efforts on behalf of students and on social assistance so that these students are assisted rather than impeded by the joint responsibilities of the two ministries.
