THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to implement a provincial “morning after pill” education campaign directed at Ontario’s health professionals. This education would respond to information about the “morning after pill”, breaking down stereotypes associated to women’s rights to control their own bodies, counseling techniques to assist and support women with their decision and the creation of educational materials for marginalized individuals.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to institute a massive public “morning after pill” education campaign through all forms of media (newspapers, magazines, television, the internet, radio, etc.) to create more awareness.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to assist the Ministry of Education and Training with providing a curriculum based in all school systems providing young women and men with accurate knowledge about the “morning after pill”. As well, providing young people with training that focuses on respect for their right to make informed choices about all aspects of their sexuality.
