THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario through the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario to develop a strategy that ensures accountability by the hospitals and family doctors to provide reciprocal information on patients attending at hospitals for treatment, whether or not those family doctors have hospital privileges;
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Minstry of Finance to develop a strategy that doctors be appropriately compensated to ensure that sufficient doctors are available for hospital privileges;
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Health, the Ontario Hospital Association compile and publish the actual number of orphan patients that have no doctors and the actual number of reported orphan patients who have doctors with no hospital privileges to provide accurate statistics and with a plan to reduce the numbers of orphan patients in the listings within a time framed urgency.
