THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario urges that Government of Ontario to:
1. amend the Employment Standards Act to strengthen the powers of investigating officers to force employers to comply when in violation of the Act, and to require investigators to follow through and ensure that compliance orders are carried out;
2. improve training on gender bias in the workplace for Employment Standards Adjudicators (e.g., maternity leave, parental leave);
3. shorten the length of time to investigate within thirty (30) days and resolve disputes within twelve (12) months.
