THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Ontario urge the Government of Ontario to amend the Employment Standards Act to:
a) Allow the limitation period for filing a complaint to be two years and the period to recover any funds to be two years.
b) Remove the cap of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) to allow individuals to recover the full amount owing to them.
c) Reinstate sufficient employment standards officers to maintain compliance of the Act without further erosion, and
d) Withdraw the section that states that employees must made a choice on how to proceed with a complaint.
