WHEREAS Resolution 1989/06 urges the Government of Ontario to provide a qualifying period of fifty-two (52) weeks of employment and ten (10) weeks of parental leave time; and
WHEREAS recent changes to the Employment Standards Act, Bill 14 have reduced this qualifying period to thirteen (13) weeks and grants up to eighteen (18) weeks of parental leave time; and
WHEREAS the granting of parental leave to employees is a very costly process;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario remove Resolution 1989/06 from the Resolution Handbook and include the granting of 13 weeks
qualifying period and 18 weeks leave time in our list of accomplishments.
