RESOLUTION:THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario urge the Government of Ontario, specifically the Ministries of Education, Skills Development and Colleges & Universities and the Ontario Women's Directorate, to:
1) continue to conduct campaigns to encourage females to choose Math and Science courses in school and occupation paths which have in the past been considered non-traditional for females;
2) continue to sensitize and train school counsellors and educators on these issues;
3) make funding available to school boards, colleges and universities to compile statistics, conduct research to identify any barriers which might be discouraging females from continuing to study Maths and Sciences and/or choosing non-traditional occupations and to develop an action plan for removing such barriers.
