BPW Brampton was founded March 27, 1947.  In 1948 the club received its Charter.  Today the club enjoys a membership of over 45 members and is the largest club in Ontario. The club is going strong and includes a large number of entrepreneurs, many of whom are involved in other professional and volunteer activities. The club provides its members with a balanced combination of camaraderie and advocacy.

Our Resolutions Committee has been building strength and steam over the last couple of years. We have been actively participating in BPW Provincial Conferences to ensure our members’ voices are heard on governmental issues that affect women.

One of the Brampton Club’s greatest accomplishments was in 1969 by getting the City of Brampton to extend the Municipal Franchise to all Citizens, the right for single woman to vote. Brampton was the last city to enact this Legislation.  At that time, Anne Felesco was By-Laws and Resolutions Chair and she and her committee worked diligently to bring about this Legislation.

BPW Brampton has been very busy with successful initiatives, including our Annual Ladies Charity Golf Tournament and EuchreTournaments. We enjoyed our 20th annual golf tournament in June 2015, which was a lot of fun and a great way to start the summer!

Our club encourages diversity; ensuring that we are considering the needs and opinions of all women in our community. We also encourage partnerships with other community organizations and institutions. Our events help us to support our community and our funds are directed to organizations both locally and abroad that meet the BPW mandate.
