Gender-bias of Judges in the Judicial System - 1992

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario petition the Government of Ontario to establish training courses on gender-based social and economic inequities and gender bias for judges; these courses to be conducted by trained professionals in the fields of sexual assault, family abuse and violence against women (who have been recommended by the Ontario Women's Directorate or other such feminist agency) and include input from women who have experienced these assaults.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT these courses be compulsory for all judges and crown attorneys in the provincial judiciary system.
