THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario urge the Government of Ontario to amend the Employment Standards Act to provide that, after a qualifying period of fifty-two (52) weeks of employment, either parent of a newborn or newly adopted child may take up to ten (10) weeks of Child Care leave which, in the case of the mother of a newborn child shall be permitted as an extension of her pregnancy leave.
