RESOLUTION:THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to ensure that any legislation which involves the appointment of individuals to A.B.C.'s, or in the event of reconfiguration of boards, includes a provision requiring gender equality and that the disabled, racial minorities and aboriginal people are represented.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women's Clubs of Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to ensure that the process of selecting individual(s) be OPEN and fair by ensuring that recruitment procedures allow sufficient time for applications by interested and qualified candidates, that the nominating and/or selection committee is equal in gender representation and consists of individuals as reflected in the Abella Report and that with all requirements for the position being equal, the selection candidate(s) reflect gender equity and minority groups (as identified in the Abella Report)
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that Resolutions 81/05 and 81/06 be reaffirmed.
